Children are our Financial Future
Do you remember the popular hit “The Greatest Love of All” by Whitney Houston? I believe the first line of the song reads “I believe the children are our future
Teach them well and let them lead the way”. Wow! That song brings back memories but anyway when it comes to how we as a nation and a society handle money these lyrics could not ring more true. It seems like the generations that are now growing into an age of being able to be some of the major decision makers and influencers of our time have dropped the ball when it comes to managing money. It seems like borrowing money for every little thing has been the norm for quite some time now. Have we as parents really taken the time to teach our kids how to properly manage money God’s way? Method versus Motive
I promise not to bore you with a long drawn out article but I would like to make sure you understand the difference between “Method” and “Motive” when it comes to learning more about handling personal finances. Most people who are just beginning their journey to financial freedom will naturally begin to focus on learning about different methods they can immediately implement to achieve their financial goals. Anyone can go down to their local bookstore and find multiple isles full of literature on how to put together a good budget and how to get out debt or how to get rich.
